The Legend of the MutantBunny
Part OneOnce upon a time there lived an ordinary bunny in an ordinary forest. Everything about his life was ordinary and he was not content. He wanted to see something beyond his ordinary life in the forest. One day, he went in a direction that he had not gone before and came to a place where there were no more trees. The bunny was surprised because he thought that the whole world was covered with trees. He was intrigued by this place that was not a part of his forest so he continued.
Soon he came to a chain link fence with a large sign that said KEEP OUT: Nuclear Experiments in Progress. However, the bunny couldn't read so we slipped through a hole in the fence. Not long after that he came to a huge gray building. The bunny had never seen anything like it in his entire life. The building seemed huge and forbidding; the bunny felt a little afraid but his curiosity overwhelmed his sense of caution and he continued. It seemed that the building was nothing but solid rock all the way around but the bunny discerned a break in the stone a little ways down that was made of metal. Then, a big scary creature burst out of the metal and the bunny was taken aback. It was one of the strangest things he had ever seen, being nothing like any kind of bunny. It was tall and stood on two legs and the ears weren't even worth mentioning. Then the bunny remembered a myth about creatures called humans that roughly fit this thing's composition.
The bunny watched the human as he walked away from the building and noticed that the bit of metal that he'd come through was slightly ajar and led into a dark space. This was the most excitement that the bunny had ever had and he was determined to not let it be spoiled by his own trepidations, so he continued through the door. What the bunny saw next completely amazed him. The room was very high and lit by a strange light that came from up above. It was filled with large containers of glowing green liquid. The bunny thought that the liquid was very pretty. He jumped up onto the desk to get a closer when he heard a noise. There was a human on the other side of the room running straight for him making loud noises! The bunny was so startled that he bumped into the container, knocking it over and spilling its contents all over himself. This made the human come at him faster while making even louder noises! The bunny decided that he had had enough adventure for one day so he ran as fast as he could toward the door. Outside the building there were even more of the human things running around, and it seemed that they were looking for him! He ran away back to the fence, through the hole in the chain link fence and into his forest. The bunny was being a little overwhelmed by the extraordinary.
Having gotten cleanly away, the bunny heaved a sigh of relief and promptly fell asleep. It had been a big day. The next morning began like any other day. The bunny woke up and looked around at the ordinary, familiar forest. But, wait; there was something different. Everything looked different-clearer and more colorful than it used to. He could smell everything more strongly. The bunny felt very strange. He went over to a pond of water to get a drink and jumped in surprise at his appearance. He jumped much higher than he had ever been able to jump before. He went back to the pond to take a second look, and just as he feared, he had not been mistaken. The bunny staring back at him looked very different than the ordinary bunny that he was used to seeing. This bunny was jet black with green insets in his ears and bright green eyes. His teeth and tail were jagged-they looked perfectly suited to tear things up. The ordinary bunny was ordinary no longer-he had become a mutant bunny.
